Our Story

Meet the Owners

Riverbend RV Park & Cabins is more than a campground—it’s the result of years of hard work, family tradition, and a love for the mountains. Below, we share our story and how our journey led us to Franklin, where we continue to welcome guests to relax, connect, and enjoy life by the river.

Welcome to Riverbend RV Park and Cabins! Established in 1997, we proudly took ownership in November 2024 with a vision to create a welcoming space where guests can connect, relax, and enjoy nature.

Tim’s family has deep roots in the Macon County area, with ancestors settling here in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Both of his parents were born on Sugar Fork Road, and his father was raised on Ellijay Road, where the old family homestead still stands. Tim's mother grew up just a short distance from the campground on Highlands Road, making this community a cherished part of their family history.

In 2015, Jodi opened Mountain to Shores Vacation Rentals, initially managing properties in Florida and Jackson Lake. As the business grew, she expanded her rentals into the Franklin, North Carolina area after moving there full-time. Focusing on vacation rentals in the Ellijay Township, they began with Hickory Knob Farms, where Hickory Knob can be viewed from Ellijay Road. Adding the campground to their vacation rental business has been a wonderful addition, and they envision continuing to grow and host community events for the people of Franklin.

Our park is designed for families and friends to come together, featuring pet-friendly areas for your furry companions, scenic spots for fishing and kayaking, and a large open-air pavilion perfect for social events and movie nights. With just 18 premium sites located directly on the water, each site includes concrete patios, fire rings, and picnic tables, all centered around a community fire pit—ideal for making s'mores and sharing stories.

Tim, with his 30 years of experience owning a muffler shop, and Jodi, a dedicated educator for 30 plus years and a EMS professional with a master's degree in Education, are passionate about creating memorable experiences for our guests. When the campground is closed, they enjoy hiking, hunting, fishing, and traveling, alongside their hobbies of gardening, canning, and caring for their chickens. Their fur baby Sage who is a blue tick coon hound is the campground princess and often greets all our guest .

Being part of the community and giving back is very important to us, and we’re thrilled that you’ve chosen Riverbend RV Park and Campground for your getaway. We look forward to making your stay incredible.
